Workforce Development

With the growth of renewable energy production, Western Indiana plays an important role in our country’s goal of energy independence. Increased solar energy, wind energy, geothermal heat, biomass energy and energy efficiency improvements will all require knowledgeable, well-trained workers.
Educational Programs
Energize your future and follow an energy career path. In support of the BioTown™ USA educational and workforce development initiatives, Ivy Tech’s Lafayette campus developed an Associate of Applied Science and Technical Certificate in Sustainable Energy. The program will train individuals as skilled technicians who will work with engineers and other technicians to implement sustainable energy systems and to support processes such as installation, analysis, operations and maintenance of sustainable energy systems. Purdue University also offers hundreds of career paths that could lead to green jobs, so speak to your guidance counselor for more information.
