Joe Seaman

Joseph H. Seaman attended Ohio State University, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lake Erie College and is a certified public accountant. He and his family moved to the Greater Lafayette area in 1988. Bringing with him the positive and productive attitude to continue to make Lafayette and West Lafayette a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Prior to beginning his journey with Greater Lafayette Commerce Mr. Seaman was the President of JP Morgan Chase Bank and long-time volunteer leader in local economic development activities. Mr. Seaman worked for Chase and its predecessors since 1970. While working for Chase he acquired employee management, negotiation activities, business development, strategic planning, business analysis and much more. All which are vital qualities to be in the position that he holds today.

Mr. Joseph H. Seaman has been the President & CEO of Greater Lafayette Commerce since June 1, 2007. He was the first to assume the role of leading the six combined councils under one umbrella to make a strong and influential organization for Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. With the new organization in place Mr. Seaman continues to strengthen and refine the unique qualities that bring the six councils into one, while Lafayette and the surrounding counties reap the benefits of such a combined effort.
